Meat Me Halfway: Humor, Disappointments and Triumphs of the Carnivore Diet

  • Cook Time: 10 minutes

Per Serving (Approximate):

  • Calories: 1224 calories
  • Fat: 86 grams
  • Protein: 112 grams
  • Carbohydrates: < 1 gram

Ingredients

  • 16 oz ribeye steak
  • 2 TBSP grass-fed butter, tallow, or ghee
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 pinch ground pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).
  • Pat dry your meat on both sides. Season the steaks with a generous amount of salt (and a pinch of pepper) on both sides.
  • After the skillet is at a high temperature, add the butter, tallow, or ghee and let it melt.
  • Add the steak and sear each side for 30 seconds while spooning the melted fat in the skillet over the steak until both sides are browned.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches your preferred doneness.
  • Take the skillet and steak out of the oven. Put the steak on a cutting board and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving or cutting.
  • Serve/cut and enjoy!
