  • Protein: 0 gram
  • Carbohydrates: 0 gram

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter

Directions

  • Set your stovetop to medium heat and place a stick of butter in a saucepan.
  • Allow the butter to melt completely, then reduce the heat to medium-low. As the butter begins to cook, foam will form on the surface. Stir occasionally and scrape the sides of the pan to keep the butter evenly heated.
  • Watch closely as the butter starts to brown. The process can happen quickly, so stir frequently to prevent burning.
  • For a lighter, milder flavor, remove the butter from the heat when it reaches a golden brown color. If you prefer a richer, nuttier taste, let it darken further, but be cautious not to let it burn.
  • Once the butter reaches your desired level of browning, remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes.
  • Pour the browned butter into a glass measuring cup, ensuring you scrape the pan to include all the flavorful browned bits at the bottom—this is where the rich taste comes from.
  • If you’re using molds, stir the butter in the cup to redistribute the brown bits evenly before spooning it into the molds. You can use a teaspoon or tablespoon to portion it out for consistent servings. Alternatively, you can pour the butter directly into the molds.
  • If you don’t have molds, line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour the butter into the dish.
  • Once all the butter is portioned, place the molds or baking dish in the freezer. Allow it to freeze completely.
  • Once solid, remove the butter from the molds or break the butter sheet into pieces. Store the butter bites in a freezer-safe bag or container, and keep them in the freezer or refrigerator for easy access.
